Made in Europe Filmfestival is the biggest film event of this region and the perfect opportunity to come and watch movies you would normally never see.
From March 24th until March 28th films will be shown from all corners of Europe. This is your chance to see special imports and be part of eye-catching international avant-premières.
The Made in Europe Film Festival is devoted to contemporary auteur cinema from Europe. From 24-28 march 2010 the Festival offers the local cinema audience around fifty outstanding feature Films, documentaries and short films. It is the biggest film event of the Limburg region and the perfect opportunity to come and watch Films that you usually don’t get to see in cinemas. The Festival includes the following sections: MADE IN EUROPE, Contemporary films from young European filmmakers. This section paints a picture of Europe today: a beautiful, complex and culturally very diverse continent;DUTCH ANGLE, Section devoted to the work of talented and innovative Dutch authors, which up till now have remained relatively unknown among domestic audiences;BIENVENUE CHEZ LES B’LGES, A survey of the best Belgian films of the last year; FESTIVAL PREVIEWS, Exclusive previews of new movies from established directors such as François Ozon, Marco Bellocchio and Fatih Akin; MADE IN LIMBURG, This section puts a spotlight on local filmmakers. This year our local filmmaker in focus is Frank Scheffer, mostly known for his documentaries on modern (classical) music. Another highlight in this section is the kickoff of our new One Minute Film Competition. Openingnight is wednesday 8 p.m. (film: Eastern Plays). March 24 till March 28 in Lumière Cinema, Bogaardenstraat 40b, Maastricht.
