Jazz Festival

It took a while, but it was worth waiting for. The program of Limburg’s newest jazz festival, Mecc Jazz Maastricht has officially been released. On Friday, August 27 the program was proudly announced in the atmospheric setting of the Museum aan het Vrijthof, during the 28th edition of the Preuvenemint event in Maastricht.

Maastricht will be under the spell of jazz at the end of October. The organization is keen on serving a broad audience by presenting an impressive program with world class artists: Angie Stone, Lizz Wright, Matt Bianco, Toots Thielemans Quartet, Roy Hargrove Quintet, Nils Landgren’s Funk Unit, Wayne Shorter Quartet, Trijntje Oosterhuis & Band, Count Basie Orchestra, Monty Alexander, Klaus Dolginger’s Passport, Mezzoforte, Mike Stern Band ft Didier Lockwood, Magnus Lindgren, Kraak&Smaak, Tuck & Patti en Jazzanova Live! ft. Paul Randolph.

On top of that, there is a lot of attention for regional talent. Local artists will perform at Mecc Jazz Maastricht like Ad Colen, Swing Design, mit4spiel5, Baraná, Palais Noir & Dance, Mo’Jones Big Band, Ron van Stratum sextet, Piranha, Han Berghs & jazzcombo en Bankroet Jazz Live and many more…

The event is a total experience with culture and delicious foods and drinks of top quality. In short, Mecc Jazz Maastricht promises to be a true adventure of the first order, which may not be missed. The festival takes place at October 29 & 30 in Mecc Congress Centre.

Jeker Jazz Maastricht

Jazz can be tasted and felt throughout Maastricht in October. Two weeks before, from 14 to 17 October, the traditional café program will take place. As a tribute to the roots of this event it will carry the name Jeker Jazz.
