Digital accessibility
‘Welcome to Maastricht Region’ is committed to digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are constantly working to improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards. It is a matter of political will and moral obligation, now enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD). Article 9 of this Convention – to which the EU is a party – requires that appropriate measures be taken to ensure that people with disabilities have access, on an equal basis with others, to, amongst other things, information and communication technologies, including the internet.

Information and services must be accessible and usable by everyone. To ensure this, our website and associated applications are assessed against the internationally recognised accessibility standards WCAG 2.1 AA and WCAG 2.2 AA. Maastricht Marketing is currently working hard to meet these standards and to ensure that our website complies with the legal requirements regarding digital accessibility. Based on an accessibility audit, we are working to a clear schedule to resolve any shortcomings identified. In this way, we aim to ensure, to an ever-greater extent, that all visitors – including people with disabilities – can make full use of this website.
